Ernest Souza Parcel
More protection for the Fresh Pond well in Waquoit came with the acquisition in 2001 of 9.1 acres on Carriage Shop Road. Owned by Ernest Souza, the property is in the zone of contribution to the town well. The parcel links to the Cape Cod Beagle Club’s 148 acres and is west of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club’s 102 acres. Both properties are protected with conservation restrictions.
The Beagle Club and the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club contributed to the town’s purchase of the Souza property.
